Disclosure: We build RafterCore. We've tried to keep this fair — including the places where FieldFuze is a reasonable choice. Pricing and integration details below reflect each company's public information in 2026; confirm the current numbers before you buy.
The one-line difference
FieldFuze and RafterCore agree on something most of the industry gets wrong: contractors shouldn't be charged per user or locked into annual contracts. Where they part ways is focus. FieldFuze is a multi-trade field-service platform — it markets to roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fencing, and painting from the same codebase. RafterCore does one thing: roofing. Every screen, every AI tool, and every workflow is built around how roofers actually sell, scan, supplement, and get paid.
If you run several trades, breadth can be an advantage. If you run a roofing company, depth wins — and that's the entire reason RafterCore exists.
Where the platforms actually differ
1. Built only for roofing vs. six trades at once
A platform serving six trades has to keep its core generic. Roofing-specific needs — IRC-code supplement letters, Xactimate line items, hail and storm logic, holdback collection, carrier-specific claim handling, tile vs. shingle material orders — either become shallow add-ons or never ship. RafterCore treats those as the product, not an afterthought.
2. It finds you jobs — not just tracks them
Most software, FieldFuze included, is built to organize the work you already have: a CRM, a pipeline, invoicing, scheduling. RafterCore does that too — then goes further with a lead engine. Storm Center monitors hail and wind events across all 50 states, scores past clients and neighborhoods by likelihood of damage, and surfaces roof-age intelligence so you knock the right doors before competitors do. Software that organizes you is table stakes. Software that grows your top line is the difference.
3. Unlimited AI roof measurements — already live, $0 per report
This is the cleanest contrast. RafterCore's Roof Intel returns squares, pitch, age, RCV, and hail risk on any address in seconds — unlimited, with no per-report fee. FieldFuze markets aerial measurement through EagleView, but on its own site that integration is described as a future collaboration, and EagleView reports carry a per-report cost ($15–$87 each is typical). For a shop running 40–50 estimates a month, "unlimited and included" versus "per report" is hundreds of dollars of difference every month.
4. A homeowner experience that makes you look bigger than you are
RafterCore ships a 20-feature homeowner portal: booking, real-time job tracking, crew photos, document signing, online payment, and an automatic AI confirmation call. That polish is what makes a five-truck roofer feel like a $10M company to the homeowner — and it's what drives the reviews and referrals that compound. FieldFuze is oriented around back-office and field operations; the homeowner-facing layer isn't its strength.
5. Flat price — and we never take a cut of your revenue
Both platforms avoid per-user fees, and credit where it's due — that's the right model. But watch how each one makes money. FieldFuze has been moving toward a "$0/month" pitch funded by payment processing — roughly 2.9% on its entry tier, 2.2% on Pro, and 1.2% on Enterprise — so the more you collect through the platform, the more they earn. RafterCore charges a flat monthly price and passes payments through at your own Stripe rate. We don't take a percentage of what you bill. On a shop processing $1M a year, a 1–3% processing spread is real money — money RafterCore's model leaves in your pocket.

Where FieldFuze is the reasonable pick
An honest comparison names the other side's strengths:
- You run more than roofing. If roofing is one of several trades under your roof, FieldFuze's multi-trade design covers all of them in one tool. RafterCore deliberately doesn't.
- You want a $0-to-start hook. Its processing-funded "$0/month" tier removes the monthly bill for a cash-tight solo just getting off spreadsheets.
- You need fleet GPS and heavy dispatch today. Vehicle tracking and drag-and-drop dispatch ship in FieldFuze now; on RafterCore those are roadmap, not shipped.
Where RafterCore wins
- Roofing is your business — and you want software that's roofing all the way down.
- You want a platform that generates storm and replacement leads, not just files the ones you already have.
- You want unlimited, live AI roof measurements with no per-report bill.
- You want a homeowner portal and AI booking that make you look like a much bigger company.
- You want a flat price where your payment revenue stays entirely yours.
Both platforms ditched the per-user tax — that's the easy part. The real question: was your software built for roofing and built to grow your revenue, or built to serve six trades and take a slice of your payments? That's the line RafterCore is drawn on.
