Demo Script

A step-by-step guide for walking a contractor through RafterCore. Total time: 15โ€“20 minutes. Works in person, over phone, or on a screen share.

Know Three Things Before You Start

Research the contractor before you meet. You want to know:

What type of roofing they do (residential storm, commercial, new construction, or retail). Each has different pain points โ€” storm contractors care most about supplement AI and lead capture, retail contractors care about estimates and invoicing.
How many crews they run. This tells you if they need crew management (1โ€“3 crews = Starter is fine; 4+ = Pro or Enterprise).
What software they currently use, if any. If they're using ServiceTitan, lead with price. If they're using nothing, lead with time savings.

Step 1
The Opening Hook
Quick question before I show you anything โ€” how do you currently handle your insurance supplements? Like after the adjuster comes out, how do you track what they missed?

Wait for their answer. Most will say they do it manually, use a spreadsheet, or rely on their adjuster. Then:

That's exactly what RafterCore was built to fix. It's a platform built specifically for roofing โ€” not adapted from HVAC software, not a generic field service tool. Built for roofers. Let me show you the part most contractors react to first.
If they don't do insurance work, swap "supplements" with whatever fits: "how do you send invoices?" or "how do your homeowners track their job status?"
The Demo (10โ€“12 min)
2
Step 2 ยท Most Impressive First
Start with AI Roof Scan
Open the Merchant app demo at raftercore.com/merchant. Log in with demo credentials. Go to Roof Intel โ†’ Run Scan. Enter a local address they'll recognize.
This is the Roof Intel tool. I'm going to type in an address โ€” you pick one, doesn't matter if it's yours or a neighbor's. Watch what happens.
Let the scan run. It pulls satellite imagery, calculates square footage, pitch, material type, and damage score.
It just calculated the squares, the pitch, and flagged potential damage โ€” without anyone getting on the roof. If you're doing a storm canvass, you can run 50 addresses in the time it would take to visit one property. That's how you decide where to knock.
3
Step 3
Show Storm Center (if they do insurance)
Navigate to Storm Center in the left nav.
This is your storm lead map. After a hail event, it shows you affected properties by ZIP code, sorted by damage severity. These are homeowners who just had a storm event โ€” the exact audience you're knocking for. Instead of driving around hoping, you're targeting verified affected properties.
If the area hasn't had recent storms, reference a past event: "After the storm last [month], this would have shown every property in your target ZIP with documented hail impact."
4
Step 4
Invoicing + Homeowner Portal
Navigate to Invoices. Show a sample invoice. Then switch to the Customer-facing view to show the homeowner portal.
When you're ready to get paid, you send an invoice through here โ€” the homeowner gets a link, they pay by card or ACH, and the money hits your account through Stripe. No more chasing checks. And this [homeowner portal] is what the customer sees โ€” they can check job status, approve estimates, message your crew, and upload photos. Cuts your office calls in half.
5
Step 5 ยท Optional
Insurance Supplement AI (for storm contractors)
Navigate to Insurance Claims โ†’ AI Supplement Writer.
If you run insurance claims, this is where it gets interesting. The AI reads the adjuster's scope, compares it to standard damage patterns for the roof type, and generates a supplement letter targeting line items adjusters routinely miss โ€” drip edge, starter strip, ice and water, code upgrades. One recovered supplement on a $15,000 job typically runs $1,500โ€“$3,000. That's months of RafterCore paid for from one claim.
The Close (3โ€“5 min)
6
Step 6
Pricing โ€” Keep It Simple
There are three plans. Starter is $149 a month โ€” full platform, everything I showed you, up to two team members. Most guys in a smaller operation start there. Pro is $349 and adds crew GPS, unlimited team, and priority support. Enterprise is $899 for multi-location operations. And right now, every plan starts with a 7-day free trial โ€” full access, no credit card required. If it doesn't fit your operation in the first week, you walk away and owe nothing.
Don't apologize for the price. Say it directly and move to the trial. The trial does the selling โ€” your job is just to get them into it.
7
Step 7 ยท The Ask
Close to the Trial
I've got a link that takes you straight to the signup. Takes about two minutes to get your account set up, and you'll have the full platform to use for a week on your actual jobs. Want me to text it to you right now?
Send them your referral link: raftercore.com/merchant?step=signup&plan=starter&trial=true&rep=YOUR-CODE
"Do you want to try it?" is the wrong close โ€” it invites a no. "Want me to text it to you right now?" is action-oriented and removes friction. If they say yes, you've won.
If They Push Back
โ†’
Handle Objections
Quick Responses
"We already use ServiceTitan."
What are you paying? [They'll say $500โ€“$1,500+.] RafterCore does everything ServiceTitan does for roofing at a fraction of the price โ€” and adds storm leads and supplement AI that ServiceTitan doesn't have. The trial is free. Run them side by side for a week.
"We don't need software, we have a system."
What does your system look like for invoicing? [Listen.] Got it. So if one tool could automate the invoicing, help track job profitability, and handle homeowner communication โ€” how much time would that save your office per week?
"It's too expensive."
The Starter plan is $149 a month. If it helps you recover one missed supplement line item โ€” even a $200 catch โ€” that's your first month paid for from one job. And the trial is free. Nothing to lose by trying it.
"I need to talk to my partner / office manager."
Totally makes sense. Can I ask โ€” is cost the main concern, or is it more about whether the platform fits your operation? [Listen.] Here's what I'd suggest โ€” I'll send you the link, you forward it to them, and they can both poke around during the trial. No commitment needed to try it.
After the Demo

Follow up within 24 hours if they didn't sign up on the spot. A simple text: "Hey [name] โ€” sending over the RafterCore link. Takes 2 min to get the free trial going. [link]"

You'll see their signup appear in your Rep Portal automatically once they create an account.
